Bhubaneswar: The Swachh Pakhwada –a fifteen days programme organized from 1st September as a part of the Clean India Movement to create a cleaner and greener India gained its momentum here at DAV Public School, Kainga Nagar with the gracious presence of eminent personalities from Odisha Environmental Society, Bhubaneswar.
Taking part in a discussion on the issue of ‘Environmental Decline-its Consequences’ organized in this regard, Dr. Sundar Narayan Patra, senior member of the organisation said, ‘A clean and balanced environment is the first pre-requisite to build a healthy society’. In the meeting chaired by the Principal Mr. Bipin Kumar Sahoo, students and staff of the school took the pledge to create a healthy and friendly environment free from plastic a major threat to life on the earth. Expressing his opinion in this concern Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rath, another veteran member of Odisha Environmental Society said, ‘Students can play a pivotal role in saving and the earth from the imminent danger of pollution’. At last the dignitaries were felicitated by the Principal. The was programme was presented and co-oridinated by senior teacher Ms Minati Tripathy and Dr. Prakash Chandra Panigrahi respectively.
