Relaxation In Stamp Duty Shall Revamp House-Sales & Scale Up Revenue Income

CREDAI Odisha in a press release thankfully appreciated the Cabinet approval forreducing stamp duty on registration of Power of Attorney from 5% to 2%. President of the State confederation of CREDAI National Swadesh Routray along with it’s Chairman D. S. Tripathy, Vice-president UmeshKhandelwal, Vice President, Navin Kandoi, Secretary Anil Agarwal, East Zone women wing Coordinator Sofia Firdous, Cuttack Chapter President, P. R. Maharana & Berhampur Chapter President Umashankar Panigrahi expressed their gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the much awaited relaxations in Stamp Duty for registration of Power of Attorneys and revocation of 5% Stamp Duty on Conveyance Deeds by substituting it for payment of Rs.1000.Describing the cabinet decision as radical, CREDAI Odisha President Mr. Routray says that the confederation had submitted a memorandum characterized by facts to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for reduction of stamp duty in public interest and participated in deliberations with Hon’ble Ministers & High level officers of Housing & Urban Development and Revenue Departments – drawing Govt’s attention to the prevailing rules regulations & conditions of other states, ” we are thankfully obliged that Government took favourable cognizance of Confederation’s view points.”
