Historical Fiction “Journey into the Unknown ” authored by Shri Biswakesh Tripathy released
Bhubaneswar: A book release function of “Journey into the Unknown”by noted author Shri Biswakesh Tripathy, IPS (Retd.) was held today here at Press Club of Odisha.The book was released by Prof. Smt. Padmaja Mishra, Vice Chancellor, R. D. Women’s university in the august presence of Educationist Dr. Nibedita Mohanty, Prof. Jatin nayak and other distinguished guest.
The book “Journey into the Unknown”, a historical fiction is a story about one poor Odia Deccani Brahmin boy who shows unusual adventurous spirit and leaves his village at the age of 12. He lands up as a slave of a slave trader, who sells him to a Persian trader. This Persian trader converts the boy to Islam and takes him to Persian town of Istahan. Later the boy returns to India and by confluence of circumstances he marries a Persian girl and become the Nawab of Murshidabad- Murshid Quli Khan, ruling over Bengal, Bihar and parts of Odisha. His grand-daughter Suraya marries Raja Ramachandra Deb Il, King of Utkal. This
led to havoc in Odisha leading to tragic endings.
It is a historical fiction set in the early 18th century AD
Shri Biswakesh Tripathy, a seasoned author has authored six books in Odia, sixcollections of short poems and one long poem sequence in English, besides a book on “Terrorism and Insurgency in India .
His two books in Odia have been translated into English titled Tales From Ramayana and Mahabharata’ and ‘My Life and Times in IPS’.in the recent past he has published three historical fictions titled ‘In the Cradle of the the Seven Sisters’, ‘kharavela- The Warrior Seeker’ and “Konark-A Story of Explosive Love” .
