A fund raising programme for cancer affected peoples was jointly organised by Red Swastik Society and Simplee Care clinic at the “Red Swastik Society, Odisha chapter” office. This programme is presided by Mr. Bijay Acharya, President of Red Swastik Society, Odisha chapter. Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, (Minister of Science & Technology, Public Enterprises, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Govt. of Odisha) joined as the chief guest of the event and praised the work of the organisation & effort for various noble causes. Ex Income-tax officer Mr. Sarat Kumar Das was present as Guest of Honor along with Mrs. Manasi Sundaray (ex-corporator) and Mr. Surajit Swain (ex- corporator) as special guests. Red Swastik Society is serving for the betterment of cancer patients and persons with disability for the last 19 long years. Along with these the organisation is planning to start mobile van service to provide door step treatment facilities for cancer patients as informed by President Mr. Acharya. A special jury committee is formed to donate the money collected to the needy cancer affected ones by a special initiative “you are not alone”. In this committee Mr. Akash Das Nayak (Chairman, Mo college), Padmashree Dillip Tirkey, CA S.C. Bhadra, Dr. Chinmaya Pani (oncologist), Dr. Surajit Pattanaik (Orthopaedic specialist), Mr. Bijay Acharya and Mr. Debasish Pattanaik are the primary members. This event was coordinated by secretary and Treasurer of Red Swastik Society, Odisha branch Mr. Debasish Pattanaik. Dignitaries like Suchismita Prusty, secretary, Lion Minati Behera Cancer Foundation were also present. In the end cultural performance by various artists were showcased.
