ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India felicitates team Odisha Juggernauts, winners of Ultimate Kho Kho 2022

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) – a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the world’s leading steelmakers – has felicitated the team of Odisha Juggernauts, the champions of Ultimate Kho Kho Tournament 2022, during a glittering ceremony held at Bhubaneswar on September 6.
AM/NS India backed home team, Odisha Juggernauts, has clinched the Ultimate Kho Kho Champions trophy with a victory against Telugu Yoddhas in the final match held at Pune on September 4, 2022, thus winning India’s first ever professional Kho Kho league.
Attending the felicitation ceremony, Mr. R. Vineel Krishna, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Services, Govt of Odisha said, “We are extremely happy that the team has exhibited brilliant performance during the tournament, in the final and created history by winning the inaugural edition of the league. We are looking forward to more such initiatives for creating a culture of sports in the state. We are thankful to ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India for extending wholehearted and timely support to Odisha Sports Development and Promotion Company (OSDPC) and team Odisha Juggernauts”.
On the occasion, Mr. Shingo Nakamura, Deputy Director, HR & Administration, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) said, “My hearty congratulations to the team of Odisha Juggernauts for their historic win in the championship. We are proud of our association with Govt of Odisha in this initiative and are highly appreciative of the Sports Department’s efforts to promote such indigenous sports”.
The team members of Odisha Juggernauts were felicitated with mementos by Mr. R. Vineel Krishna and Mr. Shingo Nakamura in presence of senior leadership of AM/NS India and senior government officials, followed by a celebratory dinner.
