Skill Development Program’ on “Analytical Equipment” was organised by CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology

A week-long ‘Skill Development Program’ on “Analytical Equipment” was organised by CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar where post graduate students from KIIT and SOA University of Bhubaneswar had participated. The program was jointly organised by the Central Characterization Department and Environment Sustainability Department of the Institute during 26th May and 03rd June 2022. The students from Bio-Technology and Pharmacology back ground were given both theoretical and hands-on training on various sophisticated analytical equipment such as HR-TEM, Raman Spectrometer, TGA-DSC, GC-MS, CHNS Analyser, Ion Chromatograph, and FT-IR. On this occasion, Director, IMMT Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu addressed the students and high-lighted the importance of sophisticated equipment, generation of quality data for scientific experiments and their correct interpretation. Addressing the students, Program Co-ordinator Dr. Bibhuranjan Nayak emphasized on how the students can take advantage of this training and implement the acquired knowledge in their career. Dr. NK Dhal, Dr. DS Rao, Dr. SK Pradhan also wished for a better future for the students. Thanks was given by Shri Debadatta Sahoo, Dy. Co-ordinator of the Program. IMMT under the CSIR-Skill initiative, plans to organise many more Skill Development Programs in future.
