Parichay Foundation presents 7th Edition of AARYA Awards

Bhubaneswar: Parichay Foundation, a philanthropic organization engaged in promoting Indian art and culture and bringing about economic and social upliftment for underprivileged in urban slums and rural parts of Odisha and New Delhi once again organized the 7th edition of AARYA Awards in association with Odisha Tourism Department on 07th March 2019 marking the International Women’s Day here at Bhubaneswar.
At the outset, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, His Excellency Prof. Ganeshi Lal inaugurated this award presenting ceremony in the august presence of Padma Vibhusan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneswar North. Followed by the inaugural ceremony, a panel discussion on Violence Free Society for Women was organized at where Ms. Paramita Satapathy, Income Tax Commissioner & Author, Shri Satyajit Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack, Ms. Usasi Mishra, Eminent Odia Actress and Mr. Mohammad Nooruddin Amin, Managing Director & CEO, Adhikar Microfinance bestowed their intellectual thoughts and valuable insights to curb gender disparity.
Address the gathering, His Excellency Prof. Lal said, “Nothing can away from Odisha. Odisha is the land full of talents. One can find every single aspect of human prosperity in Odisha. Further he praised Parichay Foundation for its unstoppable journey in fields of women empowerment. He also said you can find most of the loving and caring affections from the people of Odisha. During his entire deliberation he focused upon the social upliftment and women empowerment. Eventually he saluted all the people behind this noble event.”
Fourteen women achievers from distinct categories felicitated with this prestigious award. The awardees included Dr. Chidatmika Khatua and Ms. Purabi Patra (Field of Social Work), Dr. Sujata Kar (Field of Medical Science), Ms. Paramita Satpathy (Field of Literature), Ms. Madhulita Mohapatra and Ms. Sumitra Mohapatra (Field of Art & Culture), Ms. Arjya Patnaik (Field of Entertainment), Ms. Jagruti Mohanty (Field of Media), Ms. Madhulika Dash (Field of Unconventional Achievements), Dr. Bhagyashree Singh (Field of NRO), Ms. Palak Aggarwal (Field of Entrepreneur), Ms. Payal Patel (Field of Social Entrepreneur), Ms. Arpita Mohapatra (Field of Sports) and Ms. Santoshi Deo in Special mention categories.
Founder, Parichay Foundation Ms. Rosalin Patasani Mishra, said, “Parichay has always stood for women empowerment and Aarya Awards is our tribute to all women who are scripting their own success and inspiring stories from different fields.
In the morning on the same day ALL WOMEN HERITAGE WALK was organized at Mukteshwar Temple, Bhubaneswar to mark the International Women’s Day. Many women took part in this noble cause to maintain integrity and harmony in the society. During the event in the evening, Odissi exponent Saswat Joshi presented cultural performance on the theme of tourism.
Parichay Foundation, which has been felicitated by the President of India and recognized by the United Nations for its outstanding work, has been organizing Aarya Awards since 2012. From 2016, Parichay has also started Shrie Awards, to acknowledge the achievements of men in various sectors, organizing the award ceremony on the occasion of Father’s Day. Recently, the foundation also launched its pilot project, Alaknanda Scholarship Programme for drop-out girl students across the state.
