Foreign Tour Operators request for short term Visa

Bhubaneswar: Foreign Tour Operators who have participated in the Odisha Travel Bazaar organized in Bhubaneswar are seeking short term visa. Especially Malaysian tour operators demand short term visa. They said, it will helpful for India to increase number of foreign tourist to India.
Tourism secretary of Odisha Mr. Vishal Dev assured them on visa and tell them that, he will request Government of India to take decision in this regard as soon as possible. Tour operators are also requested for e-Visa.
In the valedictory session, Mr. Dev said that, “I will request Government of India in this regard and will take up short term visa issue with them. Will discuss with them on e-visa”
Foreign tour operators raised concern about the strict rule of Environment and Forest department and said that, these laws need to be liberals to bring more tourists to the state.
Tour operators are pointed out that the management at few monumental sites is not in order. Mr. Dev accepted the feedback and said that government of Odisha will do what is best to bring those in order. On Five Star Hotel feedback he said that, you cannot expect five star hotels in tribal areas because the occupancy level will going to be very low.
We received many constructive feedback from tour operators and will work on this to improve facilities at tourist site, said Archana Pattanaik, Tourism Director and Additional Secretary, Govt of Odisha.
Mr. Sanjeev Mohanty, Joint Director, FICCI Odisha said that, “This time parties from 23 countries participated in the event. This year more than 2000 B2B meeting were held between buyers and sellers where as Last year 1300 B2B meetings were organized. This year meeting volume increases substantially.
Among other dignitaries Mr. J K Mohanty, Chairman, Tourism Panel, FICCI Odisha state Council, is also present on this occasion.
