Bhubaneswar: The second wave of the corona has taken away a lot of livelihoods. Business has come to a standstill due to the lockdown. People have lost their livelihoods. Weavers are also in trouble. So the ‘Identity’ Foundation stands by them in such a disaster.
With the help of the Tech Mahindra Foundation, rations have been distributed to weavers’ families. Various food items have been distributed to 500 weaver families under the Jajpur Rasulpur Gopalpur Handicrafts Cluster. ‘Introduction’ founder Rosalin Patasani Mishra was present and donated the material. He thanked Tech Mahindra CSR chief Shormi Choudhury and Rashmi Mohanty for helping the weavers during the lockdown. Earlier, during the first wave of the corona, a number of assistance was provided to the weavers of Maniabandha under the project’s introduction to identity. Special arrangements have been made for the branding and sale of the sarees they make to make the weavers financially self-sufficient.
