LOAN MELA FOR MSME/STARTUP (Easy Credit Flow)

MSMEs are key contributors to the country’s economic activity as an important source of employment, growth, and innovation. Despite their essential role, MSMEs receive a disproportionately small share of credit from the financial system, a trend that persists across developed and developing countries. Although, given the proportion of the problem around lack of finance, it is clear that no single solution can bridge the gap and create an enabling environment. Therefore, to address the perceptible credit gap, there is a need to introduce and adopt new financing models. Keeping the above note in mind, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in association with Department of MSME , Government of Odisha and MSME – DFO, Cuttack, Government of India organized a “Loan Mela for MSME / Startups (Easy Credit Flow) in Swosti premium, Bhubaneswar. This event is inaugurated by Shri Pratap Keshari Deb, Hon’ble Minister for Department of Industries, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Energy, Government of Odisha as the Chief Guest. In this occasion Minister said there is no interest shown in startup in past 20 years but now there is huge interest is shown on youngsters for startup. In this event Smt. Ranjana Chopra, IAS, Principal Secretary, MSME Department, Government of Odisha and Shri Chandrasekhar Sharma, CGM, State Bank of India joined as the Guest of Honour. State Bank of India was the Event partner and Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank and IDBI Bank were the major participating banks of the mela. Welcome address as given by Mr. J.B Pany Chairman ICC, Odisha State Council where the special address was given by Miss. Tanaya Pattanaik Co-convener INWEC, Mr. Rajiv S. Sahoo Convener Finance and Taxation Committee ICC and Mr. P.K Gupta Joint Director HOO, MSME-DFO-Cuttack Govt. Of Odisha. Mr. Jyoti Prakash Pal Regional Director ICC Odisha Council and other members of ICC also present in this occasion. Dr. Badrinath Pattnaik Advisor and Member Skill Education Committee, ICC Odisha State Council given the vote of thanks.
