Industrial Safety Occupational Health Conference by ICC

Bhubaneswar: A conference on Industrial Safety and Occupational Health has been organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in collaboration with Directorate of Factories and Boilers. Presided over by ICC State Council Chairman JB Pany said that there has been a lot of improvement in industries in Odisha. On industrial safety and occupational health of our workers. The main objective of the conference is how to prevent accidents. Shri Sarada Prasad Nayak, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Labor and ESI Department, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest and said that in the last 20 years, State Industries have grown rapidly in every sector. Every life is precious to us. Zero deaths in the state is our main goal. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is always giving importance to that. Shri Santhanagopalan R IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary , Labor & ESI Department, Government of Odisha, said that accidents are happening in industries for two reasons. Where accidents are moving to save money, where workers are moving to save time. Focusing on this can prevent many accidents. Shri Anupam Saha, IAS , Commissioner & Labour commission & Director – Directorate of Factory & Boiler Labor and ESI , Government of Odisha. Dr. malay Kumar Pradhan, gave detailed information on the main program. Dr NR Sahu, Chairperson of the ICC State Council ESH Committee, addressed the Conference on Safety and Occupational Health in Industry. Mr. Rajesh Kanungo, the host with the ICC State Council ESH Committee, delivered the vote of thanks.This pivotal event brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss critical aspects of industrial safety and occupational health. With a focus on Business Continuity Planning, Process Safety Management, Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene, and Effluent Solutions, the conference facilitated knowledge exchange and experience sharing on the best practices in occupational safety and health.
The conference featured a Plenary Session and two technical sessions. Technical Session I centered on “Navigating a Balance Between Industrial Safety & Occupational Health: Industry Stalwarts’ Perspective (Panel Discussions),” providing valuable insights from distinguished experts. Technical Session II delved into “Industrial Best Practices,” showcasing innovative approaches and strategies adopted by leading organizations.
A highlight of the event was the felicitation of industry best practices through the ICC Excellent Performance Award. The award recognized companies that demonstrated outstanding commitment to industrial safety and occupational health. Among the esteemed sponsors and participating companies were IFFCO, Paradeep Phosphates, TRL Krosaki, Jindal Stainless, MGM, SNM, Grasim Industries, Sree Metallics Ltd, KJS Group, Falcon, Rungta Mines, and IOCL.With an impressive turnout, the conference attracted over 150 delegates, fostering a collaborative environment for addressing the pressing issues and challenges in the realm of industrial safety and occupational health.
