Dana Laxmi : An unique initiative by INWEC and Jai Odisha

Bhubaneswar : INWEC (ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council) and Jai
Odisha in collaboration with Bhubaneswar Club has launched the Dana Laxmi
initiative for citizens of Bhubaneswar to donate unused household items to the less
privileged. The initiative was launched at the Bhubaneswar Club on 5th Nov, in the
presence of eminent guests Smt. Sulochana Das (Honourable Mayor of Bhubaneswar), Shri Arup Patnaik (Convenor Odisha Mo Parivar), Shri Manoj
Kumar Chhabra (IPS, DG Prisons), Sri Akash Dasnayak (Chairman, Mo College),
Ms Sukirti Patnaaik, (Co-Chairman, INWEC National & Convenor INWEC Odisha),
Shri Rudra Narayan Samantaray (Joint Secretary, Biju Janata Dal Odisha Mo
Parivar, Founder Jai Odisa, Founder and Editor of Coffee Bytes Magazine). During
the inauguration, the guest spoke greatly of the initiative and appreciated the team
for starting this noble cause of the JOY OF GIVING to the less privileged and the
needy. Every person is in a position to contribute to the betterment of society. Some
do not know how to contribute, some are sceptical of the recipients, many have the
intention but do not have access to the right channels or organisation. Addressing
these concerns, INWEC and Jai Odisha have put together a team of dedicated
volunteers and a thorough evaluation mechanism to ensure each item reaches the
intended recipients. The initiative has received tremendous response even before
the launch. Members of INWEC have taken the lead in donating several items even
before the launch of the initiative. These items were presented to over 30 families
during the inauguration, by the eminent guests. The items include dresses, household items and toys for kids. The families were grateful and thanked the
organisers for gifting items that are useful to their families. The overwhelming
response received, has encouraged the team to continue the Dana Laxmi collection
drive for 15days, during which time the organisers along with the volunteers of Jai
Odisha will collect household items from the door steps of the donors, segregate
the items and present it to deserving families. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Sukirti
Patnaaik, expressed her gratitude to the people of Bhubaneswar for their support
and enthusiasm towards a noble cause. Dana Laxmi is not only a way for our
citizens to bring a smile to the less privileged, but also a way for citizens to be part
of the initiative towards. Repurposing, Sustainability and being Environment
friendly. Rudra Samantaray extended the complete infrastructure of the Jai Odisha
organisation and several volunteers for the initiatives. His team has worked
tirelessly to make Dana Laxmi successful. He shared his team’s vision of supporting
the less privileged for over 10 years, especially the urban poor, the elderly and
women. Collaborating with INWEC is a natural way of using each other’s synergy
and strengths to make a difference to the lives of our people. The team will continue
the noble endeavour as a yearly initiative. Dana Laxmi : This unique initiative is
